It lists settlers of the area and members and pastors of the church. It includes a plat map and photographs of area homes and people. History of area schools and pictures are included.

"Who Named the Roads around Brownhelm?" is the title of the Brownhelm Historical Association 15th annual calendar of history year of 2008. Each month features the history of an area road: Baumhart, Brownhelm Station, Whittlesey, Cooper Foster Park, Claus (twice), Jerusalem, North Ridge, Rice, Middle Ridge, Gore Orphanage and Morse. Families who settled the area are named.

Brownhelm Historical Association calendar for 2007 features sports history from Brownhelm High School. The cover photo is the 1925 basketball team. The oldest picture was published in the January 22, 1917 Lorain Daily News and recognized Bert Shotton as "one of the greatest players in baseball". The girls basketball team for the 1929-30 season is the February picture.

John Fischer compiled nineteen typewritten pages about the Vermilion Fire Department. In the 1860's the village of Vermilion has a hand pumper and hose cart. Three big fires occured in 1875, 1891 (most damaging) and 1903. Included are minutes of the Fire Department committee from June 9, 1879 through December 15, 1924.
