Archival Society Calendar Collection - Captain Josiah Pelton house built circa 1819 on W. Lake Road about 3 miles west of Vermilion, Lester Pelton born here on Sept. 5, 1829. George Risden purchased the home in 1872 and the above picture was taken about 1896.

Archival Society Calendar Collection - Diamond Cheese Co. of Axtel took first prize at the Pan - American Exposition in Buffalo 1902. For Many years they would take first at the Ohio State Fair. The brick house still stands on Rt. 60, just north of Mason Road.
